BLUEGEA

GROUP

BlueGea Group encompasses the private companies SOS Carbon and SOS Biotech, alongside the NGO Terra & Mar Foundation. Together, we have built one of the world’s largest integrated platforms for invasive seaweed management and marine biomass valorization.

Operating across the Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Antigua & Barbuda, we have harvested and managed over 30 million kilograms of invasive sargassum, while creating direct employment opportunities for more than 160 local fishermen through our coastal collection operations. Our model combines patented nearshore harvesting technologies, coastal protection systems, industrial-scale biomass processing, and biotechnology-driven valorization to tackle one of the fastest-growing oceanic crises affecting coastal ecosystems, tourism, fisheries, and local economies worldwide.

Beyond collection and environmental remediation, BlueGea Group transforms invasive marine biomass into high-value bio-based products and industrial ingredients. Our commercial portfolio already includes agricultural biostimulants and soil amendments currently on the market, alongside a growing pipeline of marine-derived bioactive extracts for industries including biomaterials, textiles, cosmetics and nutrition.

SOS Carbon works with coastal stakeholders

Through SOS Carbon, our harvesting and environmental remediation division, we combine our patented Littoral Collection Module technology with integrated coastal management operations to provide large-scale invasive seaweed harvesting and marine sanitation services to governments, tourism operators, ports, and coastal stakeholders. Our operations protect coastlines, create local employment opportunities for fishing communities, and reduce the environmental, health, and economic negative impacts of invasive sargassum seaweed influxes across vulnerable coastal regions.

Invasive Seaweed Upcycling And BioBased Product Development

Through SOS Biotech, our R&D and biomass valorization branch, we upcycle the harvested marine biomass into high-value bioactive ingredients, including polysaccharides, polyphenols, proteins, and other functional marine compounds for industrial applications. Using biotechnology-driven extraction and formulation processes, we transform invasive seaweed into scalable bio-based solutions.

Our portfolio already includes three commercial products currently on the market for the agricultural sector, designed to improve soil health, crop resilience, and reduce dependence on synthetic fertilizers. In parallel, we continue expanding a growing portfolio of marine-derived bioactive extracts aimed at supporting industrial decarbonization across sectors including materials, cosmetics, nutrition, and biotechnology.

Non Profit Programs for Coastal Restoration and Community Impact

About Terra & Marre

Through Terra & Marre Foundation, the non-profit arm of BlueGea Group, we lead community-driven initiatives focused on coastal resilience, environmental education, and sustainable development across vulnerable coastal regions.
Working alongside local communities, fishermen, schools, NGOs, and public institutions, the foundation promotes ocean conservation, social inclusion, and capacity-building programs that transform marine environmental challenges into opportunities for long-term ecological and socioeconomic resilience.
